Why the “Happiest” photo?

“So often, when we feel lost, adrift in our lives, our first instinct is to look out into the distance to find the nearest shore. But that shore, that solid ground, is within us.”

The anchor we are searching for is connection, and it is internal.”

Brené Brown

I truly believe that the key to great photos - aside from the technical knowledge of a camera and stellar editing skills - is having empathy. The gift of empathy allows you to unlock the best version, the best self of your client. Happiness is one heck of a journey, and never-ending. I’ve been on that journey for nearly forty years. Photos and portrait sessions can be stressful and nerve wracking. My greatest gift is putting the nervous at ease. I prefer to consult with my clients over in person, over coffee, tea or a glass of whiskey. Zoom is also an option. Every person has so much beauty shining out to the world, and I’m here to help you see that beauty in yourself, through the photos we create together.

Who am I?

I’m Chris. Partnered to Ben (pictured left), cat dads to Simba and Stitch. Big supporter and member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I’ve had quite the career life, outside of my photography business, pumping drinks out on the Starbucks bar, running It’s a Small World and Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom, improving the mobile ordering app at Subway World Headquarters. I’ve done a lot, but nothing is quite as rewarding as getting to know someone in front of my lens.

I love coffee. I love “The Office” (like to an obsessive degree). I love my family - as the eldest of five boys (yes, my poor mother). My partner Ben is a professional soccer coach here in Fort Lauderdale. I love the ocean, hiking (obviously not in Florida…) and exploring new cities.

I’d love to get to know you, too! And when we talk about your photo needs, we will do just that!
